This is the same as when we "fall in love" we cannot replace an internal beloved with an external one. We have to continue to hold space for the shared humanity of ourselves and the other for the divine to have a seat at the table, to feed, love and shelter both.
Now let's talk about this from the negative spin. When we name call, bully, call others animals or monsters, we give away our humanity in the process. The moment we begin to treat another inhumanely, we project our shadow, we objectify and make them the receptacle for our own pain and distortion and in that process, we lose our own ability to feel and take accountability for ourself and our power to call out the inconsistent actions.
