Numb No More
Feel more. There are many ways in which we can numb. Substances, food, electronics, sex, shopping, avoiding, habitual anger, depression... the list can go on and on. These things that we choose to use to numb can also be looked at as soothing behaviors. We use them as a way of protecting or soothing a deep wound, often from childhood but really fragmentation and trauma can occur at any point in our life. It's not our fault but we still need to deal with the repercussion of it. Perhaps the question we can ask ourselves is, are we soothing in a damaging way or a consciously, compassionate way.
